Vault and Trading Accounts
Two balances with different custody and spending rules.
Your Vault Account is a personal 2-of-2 Taproot address derived from your wallet key and a platform key. Every spend requires both signatures. There is no timelock, solo recovery branch or unilateral key-path spend. Neither side can spend Vault BTC alone.
satcap cannot unilaterally swap funds held in your Vault. However, the platform must co-sign a spend: an outage or refusal can delay access. Losing your wallet key may make funds inaccessible because there is no solo recovery route.
Allocated Trading Account funds are custodial ledger balances backed by the shared platform Hot Wallet. That wallet is also 2-of-2, requiring a platform key and a second key held by an independent third-party policy co-signer. satcap does not hold or have access to that co-signer key, which is generated and managed entirely by the co-signer service. Before signing, the co-signer applies automated cryptographic policy rules that only permit co-signing transactions sending funds to authorized destinations, such as returning funds to the owner’s verified 2-of-2 Vault, and only within strict per-transaction, miner-fee and rolling velocity limits. This is not a separate on-chain wallet for each trader.
